Licence and limits

The organisation’s licence defines the validity period, the number of accounts, the number of drones in the package and the Superpilot seats, as well as the number of incidents on the operations map and - when video is enabled - the number of drones streaming video at the same time. Thirty days before the licence ends, a warning bar appears above the application content and operators receive e-mail reminders.

After the licence expires

The system switches to read-only mode:

  • viewing data and exports keep working for the transitional period set out in the terms of service - this is the time to download the flight log,
  • the live operations map keeps working - telemetry is a safety feature,
  • every write (log import, edit, new entry) is blocked with an expired-licence message,
  • pairing new controllers is blocked,
  • a video stream cannot be started.

The drone package

The counter on the fleet page shows package usage, e.g. Drones (4/5). Once the package is used up:

  • the “Add drone” button is disabled,
  • importing a log with a new serial number lands in import errors - once a slot is freed, uploading the same file again is enough.

Suspending vs retiring from the fleet

These are two different actions with different consequences:

Suspend (over licence)Retire from fleet
Pairingkeptremoved
Bringing the drone backone click “Activate”“Restore to fleet” + a new pairing code
Existing flights in the logkeptkept
New flights (log import, manual flight)rejectedrejected
Blocks the serial number in another organisationyesno

The flight log follows the licence: a drone’s existing flights outside the package stay, but no new ones can be added until the drone returns to the package. A rejected log file stays in the archive for 30 days - once the drone is activated, uploading it again is enough.

The “Suspend” button is only available when the organisation has more drones than slots in the package.

Bringing a drone back into the licence

A given drone can return to the package (via “Activate” or “Restore to fleet”) at most once every 12 months, counted from the previous return. The package is not meant for swapping drones before every flight.

  • Suspending and retiring are not limited - the limit applies only to the way back.
  • Once the return is used, the button is disabled and the tooltip shows the date from which a return is possible again. The system asks for confirmation before every return.
  • The history is tracked by serial number, so deleting a drone and adding it again (manually or via a log import) does not reset the window.
  • Not counted as a return: adding a new drone, entering the package for the first time, or the automatic unsuspend after the package is increased.

Changing the package

Increasing the package takes effect immediately - suspended drones come back automatically, without pairing again.

When the drone package is reduced, a 14-day grace period applies - during that time the whole fleet keeps flying and the operator chooses which drones stay in the package. After the deadline the system suspends the drones that flew longest ago (never one that is currently transmitting telemetry).
