Product and features
What exactly is FLAARE?
FLAARE is a drone operations management system for an organisation. It combines in one place a live map view of your drones, a flight log built from logs, mission planning sent straight to the controller, and records of fleet, batteries, personnel and emergencies.
What is the KOL module?
KOL - the Air Operations Coordinator - is a module for coordinating shared airspace when several organisations are working the same incident. The coordinator sees the drones of all organisations in the designated area, grouped by operator, and can draw operating areas for individual operators. A KOL session runs for the duration of the incident: 12 hours, extendable.
Can I add a flight manually, without a log file?
Yes. Flights can be added manually, for example when the controller log is missing. A manual entry goes into the flight log just like one created from a log file.
In what format do I export the flight log?
To an XLSX file, with the pilot number and UAS operator number. The export can be filtered by dates and pilots. There are no other export formats.
Does the system remind us about expiring deadlines?
Yes. The dashboard shows a Notifications card with deadlines due within 30 days or already passed: pilot certificates (A1/A3, A2, STS-01, STS-02), personnel liability insurance and safety training, drone insurance, STS declarations and the operator's liability policy. Operators also receive an e-mail when the licence is about to expire.
Data and security
Where is our organisation's data stored?
On servers in the European Union, mainly in Poland. FLAARE is a hosted service - we run the system and the infrastructure.
Can other organisations see our flights?
No. Every organisation's data is fully isolated - your organisation sees its own data only. The exception is deliberately sharing drone positions within a KOL session during a joint incident.
How do sign-in and permissions work?
Everyone signs in with a named account. Accounts have roles: the operator manages the organisation, the pilot works with their own flights. The operator can grant selected pilots Superpilot permissions - full operator permissions except account management and the operator's data. Transmission is encrypted.
Deployment and DJI hardware
What hardware does FLAARE work with?
FLAARE works with DJI drones. Telemetry reaches the system from controllers running DJI Pilot 2, and the flight log is built from DJI logs.
How do I connect a controller to the system?
You connect a controller with a one-time pairing code generated in FLAARE. Once paired, telemetry flows to the operations map automatically.
Do we need to install anything on the organisation's computers?
No. FLAARE is a hosted service - it runs in the browser. Your organisation maintains no servers and installs no software.
Can I import logs from apps other than DJI Pilot 2?
Yes. The import also handles logs from apps built on the DJI Mobile SDK. You upload the log file the same way, and the system detects the format differences by itself.
The drone shows "Pairing blocked" - what do I do?
The same drone serial number is paired in another organisation - for example with the previous owner. The message on the drone card names that organisation. The previous owner releases the number with "New code" or "Retire from fleet". Merely suspending the drone over the licence does not release the number.
Licensing and billing
How many drones does an organisation's licence cover?
The licence covers 5 drones in the price and, as standard, 25 pilots. Both the number of drones and the number of pilots can be increased. A drone suspended outside the package can return to it once every 12 months, so the package is not meant for swapping drones before every flight.
Is there a trial account?
We don't run self-service trial accounts. Instead, we show FLAARE in an online presentation - about 30 minutes, using your organisation as the example, with no obligations.
Who do we buy FLAARE for services from?
The exclusive distributor of the services version is uStrażaka.pl. The best way to start is the "Book a demo" form - we'll guide you from there.
What happens when the licence expires?
The system switches to read-only mode. Viewing data, exporting the flight log and the live operations map keep working; only writes are blocked: log imports, editing entries and pairing new controllers. You always have access to your own data.
Can I swap drones within the package?
A drone can be suspended over the licence or retired from the fleet at any time - its existing flights stay in the log. Returning to the package, however, is possible once every 12 months for a given drone, and a drone outside the package sends no telemetry and imports no new flights. If the fleet grows permanently, extend the package.
